Three Signs You May Have Broken Pipes

Broken plumbing fixtures can be a real headache. Not only do you have to deal with damp rooms and foul odors, but these problems can really set you back financially. Since it’s important that any issues are addressed as soon as possible, here are three things to look for that can indicate faulty pipes.

Mold Growth

Where there is mold, there’s usually unwelcome water buildup. If you find yourself wiping mold away from the ceiling and window frames with alarming regularity, the problem may very well be with your piping.

Clogging

It’s easy to assume that a clogged drain means there’s some sort of blockage, but the reality is that clogs in people’s sinks and bathtubs can result from a broken pipe. Don’t just keep using drain cleaner if the clogs persist.

Infestations

Dark, moist areas often attract a variety of critters. If you have uninvited guests living under your house, there’s a reasonable chance that excess water is beckoning them there. Before you call the exterminator, it’s worth finding out if there’s a problem with the plumbing.

The worst thing you can do with broken pipes is ignore the problem. Be on the lookout for any of the above issues, and contact Daytona Plumbing for pipe repair service if you need it.
